Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I have older equipment. Should I repair or replace my equipment?
A: Sometimes equipment repair costs can approach the replacement cost for used equipment. We strongly suggest you service your equipment rather than replace it with the same or similar product. Why? For approximately the same cost you will have newly cleaned, serviced and warrantied equipment versus used equipment with an unknown history.
If you plan to upgrade or make major changes it may be time to replace rather than repair your equipment. Keep in mind that the majority of Nikon lenses are compatible with old and new Nikon bodies, even digital bodies*, and all Nikon Speedlights are backward compatible with most older bodies. Consider all options when evaluating repair versus replacement.
*See body owners manual for lens compatibility.
